Hello, The rules of entry into Japan have become simpler? Tell us, please, in more detail.

Responds Renat Kamalov
As a result of Mr. Lavrov's visit to Japan, an intergovernmental agreement on simplifying the procedure for issuing visas for citizens of Russia and Japan was signed. This document is designed to "significantly facilitate communication between citizens of the two countries and thereby help to intensify contacts between business, scientific, cultural and social circles in the interests of further progressive development of Russian-Japanese relations as a whole."

In accordance with the agreement between countries, a system of multiple-entry visas is in force for three years. To receive business visas for a period of no more than 90 days, you will no longer need to issue invitations.

However, all these changes concern those who conduct bilateral business with Japan, occupy a certain position and visit the country in the status of a position not for the first time.

Moreover, the new agreement will first be worked out by the relevant agencies in detail, then ratified, and for some time it will be required to enter into force of the document. These steps can take several years. Therefore, we can summarize that at the moment for tourists rules have not changed and will not change in the near future.
