In addition to carefully preserved folk traditions and many masterpieces of urban architecture, Latvia still has a warm coast of the Baltic Sea, dozens of modern resorts, almost fifty old castles, famous amber, hundreds of lakes and mineral springs .Let's note, by the way, that excessive "overload" by tourists at the height of the season, characteristic for many mass directions, is not observed in Latvia .Even Jurmala, the most famous resort of the country, is not at all overcrowded with hotels .Sanatoriums in Latvia meanwhile are also few, some just begin to be rebuilt and updated .

Leave in Jurmala was once the cherished dream of every Soviet intellectual (for the broad folk such destination served, of course, "Sochi, where the dark nights"). Latvia, like other Baltic republics, played the role of such an "internal foreign country" in the USSR with a measured and even perhaps elegant seaside rest, a beautiful soft nature and an elusive fleur of forbidden western life, which, it is said, was especially evident in the days when the wind blew from the Gulf of Finland.

The capital is Riga, large cities - Daugavpils, Sigulda.

Popular resorts - Jurmala, Liepaja, Ventspils.
