The most important city of the country - the capital of Riga, which is considered not only the most beautiful city of Latvia, but the whole of the Baltics .About 40% of buildings in Riga are built in the Art Nouveau style (or as here it is more customary to speak German style - in Art Nouveau style), for which it is often called the European capital of modernity .In total, about 800 buildings in Art Nouveau style have been built here, and most of them are concentrated in the center of the city, Old Riga .Most of them on the famous Albert Street and in the so-called Quiet Center or embassy area - every corner, every building here amazes with its beauty .To create a unique image of Riga, such well-known modernist architects as Paul Mandelstam, Michael Eisenstein and the whole Shel Dynasty ±​​$.By the way, many buildings on Alberta Street have never been restored and still store a different time stamp .

Latvia is divided into 4 historical districts, each of which is remarkable in its own way. In the north-east lies Vidzeme with its beautiful Vidzeme Sea. Moving to the east, you will get to Latgale, recognized as the religious center of local Catholics. Here it is felt everywhere: here and there standing crucifixes, many temples. Between the lakes Ciris and Egles there is the holy of holies of these places - the famous Aglona basilica and abbey.

Trying on the "Baltic necklace" in recent years, an increasing number of tourists are attracted to Latvia by the cool climate, salty breeze of the Baltic Sea with centuries-old cedars along the coast, and medieval castles and churches covered with pleasant greenery of moss.
