Moving to the east, you will get to Latgale, recognized as the religious center of local Catholics. Here it is felt everywhere: here and there standing crucifixes, many temples. Between the lakes Ciris and Egles there is the holy of holies of these places - the famous Aglona basilica and abbey.
Trying on the "Baltic necklace" in recent years, an increasing number of tourists are attracted to Latvia by the cool climate, salty breeze of the Baltic Sea with centuries-old cedars along the coast, and medieval castles and churches covered with pleasant greenery of moss.
