Problems will be, Malaysia has strict requirements for the validity of a general foreign passport: no less than 6 months.
In the middle of October it is already possible to go to the western coast of the Malacca Peninsula (Langkawi, Penang, Pangkor), and Borneo. And still there is a chance to catch the end of the season on the East Coast (Tioman, Perhentian, etc.)
