Compared with my neighbor - Thailand, which is extremely popular amongst our compatriots - Myanmar still remains almost unexplored by our tourist, and in vain . What is there for Bagan alone, in which no signs of civilization or bustling tourists hurrying to make "Selfie" can not destroy sensation of touching the amazing, incomprehensible and beyond the usual worldview . In addition, Myanmar (a few years ago known as Burma) has recently been successfully gaining tourist traffic - certainly not like Vietnam, but a noticeable growth of the tourist flow is obvious . And for this there are all prerequisites, because Myanmar is an extraordinary collection of ancient values and cultural heritage . The famous Shwedagon Pagoda, ancient Bagan, the amazing Inle Lake are becoming popular tourist centers . International class resorts Ngapali and Ngve Saung can now compete with the beaches of Thailand and Indonesia, and the beautiful nature, preserved here in its original form, attracts a lot of ecotourists to the country . A still here are very beautiful, stately and modest girls, and all residents without exception - both men and women - wear loggias - long and light skirts tied with a quaint knot .

How to get to Myanmar
There are no direct flights from Russia to Myanmar. Several European and Asian airlines fly to the country, but these options are not cheap and usually involve routes with at least two transplants: one in Europe and one in Asia.
Another way is to fly in transit through the countries of Southeast Asia (more often total Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore). From Bangkok to Yangon, 6-7 flights of different airlines per day are carried out. There are daily flights to Yangon from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The communication with other cities in the region (including Chinese and Indian cities) is limited to 2-3 flights a week.

Safety of tourists
Myanmar is a relatively safe country. Tourists should bear in mind that in large tourist centers, although often infrequent, pocket thefts are involved. Many hotels offer a safe at the reception, and in high-level hotel safes are equipped with rooms. In terms of food and drink and other precautions - "global": do not eat raw vegetables, use only those fruits that you can clean yourself, use sunscreen. Special vaccination is not necessary before going to Myanmar.

Hotels in Myanmar
There are no official categories for hotels in Myanmar. In general, they are quite consistent with the generally accepted world classification, so operators usually hang them "asterisks" at their discretion. Therefore - we advise you to carefully study the description of services, numbers, food and so on, without relying solely on "starryness."
The voltage in the network is 220 V. The outlets are three-pin, so for our electrical appliances you will need an adapter that can be received at the reception in the hotel.

Money
Banks are open from 10:00 to 14:00 from Monday to Friday. It is better to import into Myanmar only cash dollars. Denominations in denominations of 100 USD must not be older than 1996. Exchange on the street is officially banned, but it is there that the best course is and it is there that most exchanges take place.
The course at the airport is significantly understated, and in general the official rate is very different from the course on the "black market". The real rate: 1 USD = ~ 1000-1200 MMK (compare with the official at the beginning of the material and feel the difference!) Those tourists who do not want to risk contacting street "currency traders" are best able to change dollars in hotels.
Tipping in a restaurant or cafe will be welcome, but it is not necessary to give them. You can just praise a dish you especially like.
In no case should you change money from Hindus, who often offer a very profitable course - these figures can simply escape by grabbing a bill.
Since September 2003, Myanmar has officially banned credit cards, but some hotels continue to quietly accept Visa and American Express. Master Card is not accepted anywhere.Shopping and shopping in Myanmar

Local cooks are very respectful of the spicy seasonings: fish, rice, vermicelli season with onions, ginger, garlic and chili. There are many fruits in the country, dishes from chicken and seafood such as shrimps, crabs, lobsters are also popular.
The main local drink is tea, but aborigines manage to abundantly savor with spicy spices, even it, so that not every tourist will dare to enjoy it. Local soft drinks are mostly of poor quality and quite expensive.
