Is it enough for pensioners to get a bank statement to get a visa to Portugal?
Responds Anna Larionova, Insight Travel Company
If the issue of obtaining a visa is in Portugal, then usually an account statement is sufficient. An extract can be provided by one of the travelers, and a second write a sponsorship letter.
The amount on the account must be sufficient for travel. In Europe, the average statistical value is calculated - 50 EUR per day for 1 person plus 25 EUR on the first day. For example, if you purchased a weekly tour, then this is 7 nights / 8 days - 425 EUR per person - this is the minimum that must be in the account (or the equivalent in any currency). Plus, prepaid accommodation, flight, insurance.
Also, the Consulate has the right to request additional information in addition - this is normal practice.
For more information on the requirements for documents, see the "Visa to Portugal" page.
