Tatranska Lomnica is located in the eastern part of the High Tatras (18 km from the airport of Poprad) and is the starting point of many tourist routes. The highest of the local mountains is Lomnicki Stit (2632 m), the second highest in Slovakia. In winter time all conditions for winter sports are created in Tatranska Lomnica: there are ski slopes of different complexity, a skating rink, trails for flat skis and sleigh rides.
The main ski resort of the resort is a small village of Skalnate Pleso (1750 m) at the foot of Lomnicki Stit. You can reach it on the cable car from the Grand Praha hotel or on the cable car from the Morava Hotel. Season skating here continues from December to April.
At the local ski school Ternav-ski, which is considered one of the best in Slovakia, there are Russian-speaking instructors. Also at the resort is opened a children's ski school.

Trails of Tatranska Lomnica
The resort is divided into two ski areas: Skalnate Pleso - for trained skiers and Jamy - for beginners.
In Lomnicka Saddle on the wide, sloping slope there are excellent "black" tracks for downhill and giant slalom. The width of the slope is 300-500 m, and its length reaches 2000 m. There is usually first-class snow and skating is guaranteed until early May. A little above the frozen lake of Skalnate Pleso there are short slopes that you can recommend to less experienced and novice skiers.
From Skalnate Pleso goes the descent of medium complexity. The 3300 m long trail with a height difference of 730 m terminates at the intermediate station of the Pendant cable car "Start". From this station down to the side of the village of Tatranska Lomnitsa there is a descent of 2600 m with a drop of 270 m.
The Yami ski center is equipped with two drag lifts. The tracks here are marked with blue and red colors and are designed for both beginners and experienced athletes. They are served by snow cannons and are lit from 18:00 to 21:00.
There are trails for snowboarding and toboggan. For lovers of sledging below the Start station there is a sledge road, formerly bobsled.

Museum of the Tatra National Park, Zdiar - a reserve of wooden architecture (15 km from Tatranska Lomnica), a karst cave of Belianska, one of the most beautiful in Slovakia, "The Haunted Castle" in Bojnice, Spišsky medieval castle.
