Sljeme is the highest peak in the Medvednica mountain range and the ski resort with the same name, located 10 km north of Zagreb.
How to get to Slema
Zagreb International Airport runs daily Both regular and charter flights of many airlines. The city can be accessed by trains and buses from major cities of the country and Europe. Fortress Medvedgrad rises on the southern slopes of the mountain Medvednitsa on the hill of Mali Plazur (Mali Plazur). The erection of the castle began after the Mongol invasion of 1242, when Zagreb was completely destroyed. Supervised by the construction of Philippe Trier, Bishop of Zagreb, in 1249-1254. After the earthquake of 1590, the fortress was badly damaged. When the fortress was rebuilt in the 20th century, an observation platform was erected at an altitude of 500 meters, from which a spectacular view of the city opens.
