President of the Dominican Republic Danilo Medina took part in the opening ceremony of the festive town "Shining Christmas" in the capital's park of Iberoamerica. The president personally launched a fabulous New Year's illumination, consisting of 27 million electric bulbs.
The town will run until January 7, 2015, introducing residents and guests of Santo Domingo entertainment events, based on traditional Christmas stories. The innovations of this year were the Nuryn Sanlley Amphitheater, with a capacity of 2,400 people, where dance shows and Christmas plays will be held throughout the holidays.
