Recall, the possibility of switching to RUB was first reported by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Egypt in mid-February 2015.

The representative of the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt Mohammad Salem said that his department will officially announce the transition to the calculations in RUB in the near future. The measure has already been approved by the Ministry and is intended to return Russian tourists to Egyptian resorts.

In addition, the Egyptian side is considering the possibility of canceling the visa fee for Russians during the summer season. Earlier, Egypt decided to cancel the fee of $ 25 for the period from January 15 to April 30.
