French, Chinese and Indian chefs compete in their skills in the battle for the tourist, and the Indian Ocean regularly supplies them with "cannon fodder" - their gifts. All the restaurants on the island are simply stunning. In this case, the soup from shark fins can easily co-exist in the menu with ravioli with crab meat and profiteroles. And the local rum tinctures for mango and vanilla you will not find anywhere else.
By the way, foreigners can buy alcohol in duty-free shops ("free fare" in our opinion) right on the island. We spoiled ourselves with exquisite champagne at such low prices, which you will hardly find in Paris either. The locals speak decently both in English and in French. The Mauritian rupee is approximately equal to the ruble - which is quite convenient.
I was in Mauritius in the midst of a drought, but I found out about the problems with water only because I saw how the water tankers run up to the hotel regularly .Golf courses and tennis courts are illuminated by electricity, so that physical outdoor games can be entertained in the night coolness .Marine entertainment is full .Someone habitually chooses standard diving and snorkeling, someone goes to the sea to observe whales .And here is a wonderful fishing: dorado, barracuda, tuna - almost guaranteed catch .If you're lucky, you can catch a marlin .
The island is full of land attractions - colored sands, huge lilies. For children there is an open safari park where you can give milk to the deer Bambi. While my children did this, their bloodthirsty father hunted 10 km from the safari park in the reserve. For a very reasonable price there you can get a deer, have fun pursuing a wild boar or chase hares.
By the way, it was after the trip to the reserve that I took full advantage of the multicultural society. As a result of the hunt, we needed a butcher. The Catholic was on Sundays resting. The Hindu was resting on the occasion of the feast of light. But then the Muslims came to our aid, who worked with a clear conscience on Sunday.
As I said, this whole holiday of life has only one drawback. More precisely, after all, two: expensive hotels and expensive flight. However, there are not very expensive hotels on the island. And there are discounts that many hotels give for an early booking. There are special offers. There is, finally, the "Expedia", which will save 40 percent of the Moscow price. And there are extremely inexpensive offers from French travel agencies that can be found on the Internet if you own a Gallic dialect and are ready to fly through Paris.
