The name of the ski resort of Kvitfjell (1025 m above sea level) means "White Mountain". One of the four resorts of Lillehammer, it was renovated and rebuilt for the 1994 Olympics. Kvitfjell is a favorite gathering place for the sports elite of Norway. The annual World Slalom and Biathlon World Cup events are held here

How to get to Quitfiel
The train from Oslo leaves to Ringebu station every day in the morning. Travel time - 2 hours 45 minutes, ticket prices: from 299 to 446 NOK. From Ringebu to the resort - 10-15 minutes by taxi. Tariffs: 160 NOK to 18.00 and 200 NOK after 18.00 for four passengers (as of September 2011).
The resort is located 50 km from Lillehammer.

Kvitfiel trails
Quitfiel opens the season one of the first in Norway - at the end of October, and finishes - at the end of April. The secret is that 85% of the slopes are covered with snow cannons. The resort has 9 ski lifts and 21 trails of varying complexity (2 of them lighted). The difference in heights is 854 meters.
Children's skiing area - Kvitriket is equipped with everything necessary, including children's lifts, equipment for training and a children's room Bamsebo, where children can play or watch cartoons.
Slopes are open for skiing from 09.30 to 15.30 (until 16.00 from the beginning of February and until the end of the season). The cost of a ski pass for 1 day is 360 NOK for adults and 290 NOK for children from 7 to 15 years. Children under 7 years of age use the lifts for free (prices for the 2010-2011 season). Ski pass gives access to the slopes of other resorts of Lillehammer, which include Hafjell, Gaussan and Gala. There are 2 rental outlets.

On the western sunny slope there is a cafe "Tyrihans" (lunches, light snacks, pizza) and "White Mountain Bar". At the very top is the café "Toppen", which serves Thai cuisine. Koia is a popular après-ski bar. The GudbrandsGard Hotel has a restaurant, a ski bar and a wine cellar where tastings are held.
