Do I need to issue a transit Spanish visa on the route Moscow - Madrid - Santiago - Madrid - Moscow?
Responds Nadezhda Khvatova, Russian Express company
Visa is not needed if docking flights are less than 24 hours and the route is issued by a single airline ticket, that is, you are from Madrid immediately fly further along the route.
If airlines are different, then the situation is twofold - no one will undertake to say that a visa is not needed. The final decision remains with the border guard, who may not take into account the fact that you do not leave in Madrid.
In order to avoid unnecessary problems, we recommend still to open a Spanish visa.
