The island of Tobago is located about 30 km north-east of Trinidad. This island is much smaller and calmer than Trinidad. The hilly plains of Tobago are covered with dense tropical forests, the island is ideal for ecotourism fans. The forests of the island are considered one of the oldest forest communities in the western hemisphere and have long been under protection.

Beaches of Tobago

On the coast of the island there are many picturesque sandy beaches. The main tourist centers are concentrated in the south-west of the island near the city of Crown Point (Crown Point). There are many diving centers here, as the southern boundary of the distribution of coral reefs lies in the coastal waters of Tobago.

The evergreen forests of the islands are carefully protected, for which numerous reserves have been created, for such a tiny territory, as well as the unique marine reserve "Buccoo Reef". In this natural park you can see picturesque harbors, many tropical fish, different kinds of corals. In the lagoon "Bon Accord Lagoon", located nearby, nest hundreds of birds, including a Caribbean swallow, a flytrap and a white-tailed goat.
