Rwenzori National ParkThe lunar mountains, described by the ancient geographer Ptolemy, attract tourists today. It is in the national park of Ruwenzori that the longest river in the world of the Nile originates. This park in Uganda is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The main animals must-see Uganda can be seen in the national parks of Mount Ruwenzori or Bwindi, the Mgazanga reserve or in the park of Queen Elizabeth.
For example, the national park of the mountain Rwenzori is located in the south-west of the country, near the border with the Congo. In the park is the third highest peak in Africa - the Margherita peak (5109 m), as well as numerous waterfalls, lakes and glaciers. There are many endemic species and several endangered species inhabiting the park, there you can find forest elephants, chimpanzees, damans, black and white colobus, bearded monkeys, dukers and Rwenzor Turakos.

They are elephants, buffaloes, hippopotamuses, mongooses, wild boar, and several species of primates, as well as lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, striped jackals, antelopes and many others.
Small Mgahinga Reserve in the south-west of Uganda is the habitat of a mountain gorilla, the largest anthropoid ape. On its territory there are three extinct volcanoes, on which it is possible to make an ascent. To the north of Mghahing lies Bwindi National Park, one of the richest African ecosystems: there are about 120 mammal species (including the second mountain gorilla population), 346 bird species, 202 butterfly species, 163 tree species, 100 fern species, 27 amphibian species. $
