The capital of England is

Big Ben is the main symbol of London and the bell tower of the Palace of Westminster, where members of the royal family once lived, and now members of the British parliament are leading the affairs of the monarchy. The five-hour clock mechanism Big-Ben is considered the most accurate in the world, and if the arrows still slow their progress, then they speed up using an old coin weighing only one and a half grams.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to get inside the tower to foreign tourists today, but you can visit the parliament itself, and also visit the magnificent halls of the palace (the latter is possible from August 7 until mid-September, when parliamentarians are on holiday).

Scots are very sensitive to the tiny town of Inverness, because it was there that the famous oatmeal appeared, the national musical instrument - bagpipe - and whiskey.

Another ancient royal residence, fanned by a mystical halo, is the Tower, the walls of this fortress have witnessed events almost a thousand years ago. Moreover, the Tower was once a real prison, where even two English queens were executed. Today, without being embarrassed by tourists, black ravens are freely walking around here, which have been a symbol of the Tower for many years.

Being in London, it is impossible not to visit his numerous museums, primarily the British Museum, the Museum of Albert and Victoria, and, of course, Madame Tussauds. Also worth visiting is the incredible beauty of the parks, and it's better to start from the royal Hyde Park, where you can wander the avenues that were broken hundreds of years ago, and feed the hand-held squirrels.

The natural wealth of Northern England is best revealed in the Northumberland National Park with its grassy hills, valleys, centuries-old trees and ancient castles.

Cities of England

In the suburbs of London is one of the most unusual and important places in the world, where time begins - Greenwich. There passes a zero meridian, and you can simultaneously visit the Western and Eastern hemispheres. Great interest is represented here by the Royal Observatory, the National Maritime Museum and the Natural Park.

Admire old architecture, feel the spirit of good old England and understand what a truly prestigious education is, only in Oxford, a place where the centuries-old English traditions are especially appreciated.

In the resort town of Bath there is a unique thermal spring, the useful properties of which were discovered by Roman legionaries. Thanks to the efforts of the famous British architect John Nash, Bath turned into an incredibly exquisite city and a very respectable resort. Today, you can combine balneotherapy with exciting excursions to the ruins of ancient Roman buildings.

The natural wealth of Northern England is best revealed in the Northumberland National Park. Here, the grassy hills are replaced by valleys, where centuries-old trees grow and ancient castles rise, which simply do not have a number. This is the most ideal place in the world for leisurely walks on horseback.
