Excursions in Bulgaria is one of the main ways to diversify beach or ski holidays. Of course, the opportunities for acquaintance with the country, its national color, natural attractions, architectural monuments and a rich history are much greater in the summer. Being at any of the major resorts, Golden Sands or Sunny Beach, you can visit all the interesting places from the tourist point of view, go fishing on a yacht, go to a jeep safari or a pirate party and even play paintball.
Popular Excursions
Traditionally the most demanded are several excursions: first of all, a trip to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and the Rila Monastery. The cost of such programs is about 120 EUR (for children some tour operators give a 50% discount). This is one of the most expensive excursions, during which a visit to Plovdiv, the oldest European city, is sometimes replaced by a survey of Rupite, the town where the prophetess Vanga lived.
Another place worth seeing is Veliko Tarnovo. Visiting the ancient Bulgarian capital is usually combined with a trip to the Shipka Pass and sometimes an inspection of the Rose Valley.
The cost of such an excursion is slightly less than 90 EUR. Separately visit the Valley of Roses does not make sense, since roses bloom only in May-June, and Bulgarian cosmetics based on oils from these flowers can be purchased in almost any store.
An excursion to the old part of Nessebar, a city protected by UNESCO, is no less interesting. It will cost about 36 EUR. Those who live in the area of Sunny Beach will pay much less for it, so Nessebar is located near the resort. For holidaymakers in Golden Sands, it makes sense to get to the medieval monastery of Aladzha and the port city of Varna. Both that, and another - in immediate proximity from a zone of rest.
