Sal is the most popular island among travelers. Most tourists stop right here, and on other islands only for a short while (usually a day or two) are sent with excursions. The active development of tourism has changed the face of the island almost beyond recognition: in the last decade the number of local residents has doubled, more than 10 first-class hotels have been rebuilt here

Diving and surfing in Salé
The most interesting dive sites on the island of Sal: the reef Ponta Do Farol (depth up to 40, 5 m, visibility under the water from 15 to 40 m), reef Tchuklasta (36 m), shipwreck sites Santo Antao (12 m) and Demfior (12 m ), Buracona Cave (22, 5 m), Blue Room (30, 4 m) - rough wall with many holes and reefs, Palmeira caves - Pesqueiro Ti Culao (~ 23 m).
One of the world's five largest windsurfing centers is open in the town of Santa Maria in the southern part of the island of Sal. Namely - four kilometers of sandy coast not far from the town of the same name. The bay is shallow, and therefore ideal for beginners.
Windsurfing competitions traditionally take place on the beach of Punta Preta - this is the place for advanced surfers. For beginners the beach of Morabesa is ideal. Most of the island's beaches are not suitable for beginners, so those who do not have experience will need a preliminary training. Now Sala has six surfing clubs, with a wide range of services for customers of any level. Photo of Sala (12)
