Responds information department of "Subtlety of Tourism"
Officially, the rules are as follows: if less than six months have passed since the registration of marriage, almost all consulates accept passports with different surnames. If more, then the passport for the maiden name actually expires the validity period, and denial of the visa is possible both for the provision of inauthentic documents. In fact, it is considered that the passport is valid for its term, even if in your usual passport you already have a different surname.
For traveling abroad, a foreign passport is sufficient, which does not include marks on the conclusion of marriage. To cross the border, you do not need to confirm the passport with an internal passport, which means that the discrepancies in the surnames may well go unnoticed.
However, to protect yourself from unpleasant surprises, and if there is no time to replace a foreign passport, or it has valid visas, attach a marriage certificate or a notarized copy to the package of documents. In any case, you can call the embassy and clarify directly. Some tour operators in such cases are additionally advised to purchase insurance against travel.
