Booking a hotel for a visa is required. The Consulate of India checks the hotel reservation for each tourist. When there is a burning tour, you can apply for it in 5 working days. Registration of the visa takes 4 working days from the date of submission of documents to the consulate.
Earlier the visa could be obtained upon arrival. To date, unfortunately, this is not possible.
