How to get here
The most inexpensive (although with the most complex) way to get to Machu Picchu - by public transport. In itself, it's a little adventure. Record: the bus from Cuzco goes to Urubamba, where you need to transfer to the bus to Oyantaytambo. From there, in turn, at 19:45 local time, the train departs to Aguas Calientes, the nearest settlement to Machu Picchu, which costs 12 USD. The whole journey takes 5-7 hours.
Buses on the route Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu go every 15 minutes: round-trip ticket costs 9 USD, the journey takes a quarter of an hour.
