Serpukhov has many attractions, including churches and monasteries. But one of the most actively visited is the active Vysotsky Monastery. Perhaps the increased attention to this ancient monastery, known since the 14th century, is due to the fact that the icon "The Inexhaustible Chalice" that bestows healing from drug addiction and alcoholism is stored here.

From 6.00 to 19.00-20.00 on the territory of the monastery visitors are allowed, and pilgrims can stay here for the night, up to 3 days. You can get inside only if you follow a strict dress code (women in long skirts and shawls, men in clean clothes, long trousers), with the mobile phones switched off. Photo and video shooting is not allowed, in rare cases an exception can be made in agreement with the father-rector.

Therefore, to photograph a monastery with its multi-colored domes and tall bell-towers is better outside. Inside, you can see the well-tended territory, Pokrovsky and Zachatievsky (open only in the summer) cathedrals, bow to the icons of the Mother of God, the Great Martyr George the Victorious and holy relics.
