How to get

From Moscow - flights Brussels Airlines through Brussels, Iberia through Madrid, Swiss through Geneva. Either purchase a ticket for a direct flight Moscow-Lisbon to TAP, from where, then 3-4 hours (depending on the transport chosen) to get to Porto by train or bus.

By train

The long-distance trains leave from Campanhã station, which is 2 km east of the city center. Most of the regional trains and trains take the São Bento train station, although they all also pass and stop at Campanhã.

Map of Porto

To get to a town or village in the direction of Braga, Guimarãesha, Aveiro or the valley of the Doro river (or Duero, as the Spaniards call it, which we know is famous for its cuisine, vineyards and farms), it is better to use regional trains, not trains (interregional or intercidade - IC). So it will be cheaper, and on time the winnings are insignificant (for example, Porto - Braga about 2 EUR for electric trains and about 7 EUR for IC trains in one direction).

From Porto you can get to Coimbra (€ 10.50, 1¼ hours, departures every hour) and Lisbon (€ 19.50, 3 hours, hourly).

The information point is at the São Bento train station (8.30-20.00), and at Campanhã (9-19.00).

By bus

Buses Renex (office on Rua da Restauraçao) deliver tourists to Lisbon for about 15 euros and 3½ hours; 12 shipments per day; some of them follow to the Algarve. Renex also organizes routes to Braga (€ 5.20, 1¼ hours).

Transport

Metro - one of the best ways to navigate the city .Central Transit Station - Trindade - is a couple of blocks from Avenida dos Allados .3 subway lines: Linha A (blue, goes to the Matosinhos area), B (red from Vila do Conde to Povoa de Varzim) and Linha C (green, in Maia) start from Estádio do Dragão, follow the Campanhã train station and the city center , and then run to the western and eastern outskirts of Porto .Linha D (yellow) connects north to south: from Hospital SãoJoão to João de Deus in Vila Nova de Gaia, crossing the Ponte Dom Luís I bridge .And, finally, Linha E (purple) line goes from the airport and further merges with Linha B .Metro hours: from about 6am to 1am + $ .

Buses and trams are also convenient, but a bit more confusing. The central stops are Praça da Liberdade, south of Avenida dos Aliados, Praça Almeida Garrett (in front of São Bento station) and Cordoaria. There are special night buses that run about once per hour from Aliados Street between 1 night and 5.30 in the morning. The fare for one trip is € 1.30, for two / 10 trips € 1.55 / 6.65 within the city or € 2 / 8.20 for them (including the Vila Nova de Gaia region), to the airport € 2.30 for two of them. There are travel for 1 day for an unlimited number of trips, the cost is € 2.10 for buses and trams.

Speaking of the latter. Trams of Porto are an important part of the attractions and pleasures of the city. Three lines offer fantastic views, as they pass through the very center of the city. Stop Massarelos, near Palácio Cristal Palace, the main central hub. From there follow line 1 along the river to Praça Infante Dom Henrique (Ribeira district). Line 1E (often denoted as '1' in quotes) goes down to the river to Foz Douro. And Line 18 is laid up, to the Igreja do Carmo church and the gardens of Jardim do Cordoaria. Departure every half hour, opening hours: from 9 am to 7 pm.

Taxi - another popular mode of transport, especially among tourists. You can find parking in the city center or call tel: 225 073 900. The cost is € 3- € 5 for a short trip within the center, plus 20% at night.
